Role Overview – PT Structural Engineer | Post-Tension Design & Structural Review

SSE is seeking an experienced PT Structural Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Post-Tension (PT) structural design and review. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, and technical review of post-tensioned concrete structures, ensuring safe, efficient, and economical solutions that meet international standards and project requirements.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality structural designs for residential, commercial, mixed-use, and high-rise developments while maintaining the highest standards of engineering excellence.

Main Responsibilities – Post-Tension Design, Technical Review & Project Delivery

• Develop and review post-tension (PT) structural designs for reinforced concrete buildings and complex structural systems.

• Perform structural analysis, calculations, and detailed design using industry-standard software.

• Review PT layouts, tendon profiles, stressing sequences, anchorage details, and shop drawings.

• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and other disciplines to ensure integrated and buildable structural solutions.

• Review structural calculations, design reports, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable design codes.

• Participate in design coordination meetings and provide technical guidance throughout all project phases.

• Support value engineering initiatives by proposing optimized and cost-effective structural solutions.

• Conduct technical reviews of consultant and contractor submissions, RFIs, and design changes.

• Assist during construction by reviewing site technical queries and ensuring design intent is maintained.

• Ensure compliance with applicable international codes, company standards, and quality assurance procedures.

• Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, design documentation, and project deliverables.

What You Bring – Technical Expertise & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural engineering with strong expertise in Post-Tension (PT) design and design review.

• Proven experience working on high-rise, commercial, residential, or mixed-use developments.

• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and post-tension structural systems.

• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, SAFE, CSI Column, and AutoCAD. Knowledge of Revit is an advantage.

• Solid understanding of international design codes and standards (ACI, Eurocodes, British Standards, or equivalent).

• Experience reviewing structural calculations, drawings, and consultant deliverables.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.

• Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
