Role Overview – Junior General Accountant | Finance, Accounting & Professional Development

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior General Accountant to join SSE’s dynamic Finance team. This entry-level role is ideal for an individual seeking to start or advance their career in accounting within a supportive and collaborative consultancy environment. You will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end processes, and ensuring compliance, while growing your professional skills alongside expert colleagues.

Main Responsibilities – Bookkeeping, Financial Reporting & Process Improvement

• Record and document financial transactions: Maintain accurate ledgers, post journal entries, and update financial databases.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable: Process invoices, issue receipts, and ensure timely payment of bills.
• Perform reconciliations: Reconcile bank statements with financial records and identify and correct any discrepancies.
• Assist with financial reporting: Help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, such as balance sheets and income statements.
• Support month-end and year-end close: Assist senior accountants with closing the books and preparing for audits.
• Process payroll: Assist with calculating and processing payroll and verifying employee timesheets.
• Handle other accounting tasks: Support with other projects, such as budget preparation, fixed asset audits, and tax-related tasks.

What You Bring – Accounting Knowledge, Organization & Collaborative Approach

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good mathematical and analytical abilities.
